It is in my humble opinion that the way we perceive things has the ability to alter our attitude and way of thinking. The broader our perspective, the more we see the truth in life, the more we will be able to enrich our experiences in this world. Learning about life from a different point of view helps us become more understanding and more tolerant towards others in this constantly evolving world. This applies to building relationships as well. Having the ability to develop a new outlook helps us understand our partners better as we learn the reasons as to why they say or do the things they say or do. This will definitely come in handy, especially when our partners are from a different racial background.
Interracial marriages in Singapore are no longer an uncommon sight. Exposure to another person’s culture is one of the best things about interracial marriages. When you marry someone from a different racial background, you get to experience new customs and cultural holidays or even celebrate existing holidays in a different way with your partner. Trying their cuisine is one of the best things when it comes to learning about your partner’s culture. Did you know, sharing different kinds of food with your partner is a way to keep your relationship healthy and strong? After all, the way to a person’s heart is through their tummy, right?
In the last 6 years, here at Jacob’s Artography, we have had documented a handful of interracial marriages and each one was as unique as the couple’s union. From tea ceremonies to gate crashing to temple weddings to elaborate dinner receptions. Each and every ceremony was made memorable and experiences were gained along the way. As a person who is always looking for new and creative ways to highlight a moment that I’ve already seen one too many times, I enjoy witnessing and capturing interesting moments in an interracial wedding. There is always something that is slightly different even in the commonness.
Regardless of race, language or religion (see what I did there?), it will be our pleasure to provide our valuable services to you and your partner for your big day!
Cheers!
