Doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness and 2021 has certainly been that: Freedom to do so many things that has brought me happiness as a photographer. This year has been amazing, it’s almost impossible to put it into words… but I’m going to try.
Just like a bucket list, I too have a list of achievements. The idea is to stretch my abilities as a photographer and experience the sense of achievement of being recognized for my skills and work by renowned photographers from around the world. This year has been a year of proud accomplishments and I’m beyond grateful for receiving awards that I’ve been dreaming of ever since I started Jacob’s Artography.
I began the year as one of the Top 100 Inspirations photographers worldwide. Venturing into a new year, that recognition gave me the encouragement to further explore my potential in photography. Little did I know that I had a handful of major recognitions with my name written all over! This is Reportage celebrates documentary wedding photography, featuring natural, unscripted, creative moment-capturing photographs. It was my first-time receiving a Reportage award and I not only bagged one but three awards!!! Without a doubt, that was THE most mind-blowing moment in my life.
Success to me is preparation, hard (heart) work, and learning from what didn’t work out well. Putting my years of photography skills into play, I received my very first Bronze medal followed by a Gold award as well as Reportage Story award from Inspirations photographers. Jacob’s Artography has since been featured in articles such as Top Wedding Photographers in Singapore by Shutterturf, AsiaWPA’s annual newsletter and Nikon Singapore.
Personally, winning any award is a big deal to me because of the validation that comes along with it. These accolades are prove that my decision to become a photographer was one of the best decisions that I’ve made in life thus far and it is surreal to be wrapping up 2021 as Top 50 Inspirations photographers worldwide!
